■ Today's Verse
Do what is right and good in the LORD's sight, so that it may go well with you and you may go in and take over the good land that the LORD promised on oath to your forefathers, thrusting out all your enemies before you, as the LORD said. (Deuteronomy 6:18-19)
여호와의 보시기에 정직하고 선량한 일을 행하라 그리하면 네가 복을 얻고 여호와께서 네 열조에게 맹세하사 네 대적을 몰수히 네 앞에서 쫓아내리라 하신 아름다운 땅을 들어가서 얻으리니 여호와의 말씀과 같으리라 (신6:18-19)
우리 모두는 하나님이 주시는 복을 얻고 아름다운 땅을 취하는 데에 관심이 많고, 그러한 축복을 받기를 원합니다. 그러나 하나님이 주시는 복을 받기 전에 먼저 하나님 보시기에 옳고 선한 일(right and good in the LORD's sight)을 하는 데에는 얼마나 관심이 있는지를 돌아보게 됩니다. 영어로 볼 때 아주 선명합니다. Voice버젼에서는 'Do the things He considers right and good'(하나님이 생각하시기에 옳고 선한 일들을 하라)고 하였습니다. 사람들의 관점에서가 아닌 하나님이 보실 때 옳고 선한 것인지, 그런 일들을 내가 요즘 하고 있는지, 관심을 가지고 있는지를 돌아보고 힘써 봅시다. 그럴 때 하나님의 약속하신 복은 덤으로 올 것입니다.

* Do I hope that everything goes well with me? Do I want to get the good land that the LORD promised? (나는 나의 일들이 형통하길 원하나요? 주님이 약속하신 아름다운 땅을 얻기를 원하나요?)
예) Of course. That's what I really want. (물론입니다. 그게 제가 정말 바라는 것입니다.)
* How can I do the things God considers right and good? (나는 하나님 보시기에 옳고 선한 일을 어떻게 할 수 있을까요?)
예) I'll decide not to repay the people evil for evil. That is what God considers right and good. (악을 악으로 갚지 않도록 해 보겠다. 하나님께서 옳고 선하다고 하시는 것이라면 말이다.)
■ Prayer
Sovereign God. God seeks the good in people. In Your footsteps, I try to live a life of righteousness and goodness. Especially, I want to do what You consider right and good. Please allow me the discernment and determination. In Jesus' name. Amen.
