A father is the fastest, strongest, smartest, and most handsome man in the world to their child. He is their hero, role, model, and provider all wrapped into one. Father's Day is celebrated on Sunday, June 21. The day celebrates fatherhood, male parenting, and family bonds. He is a support system for the emotional, financial, spiritual, social, and physical needs of a family. Father's Day is the one time of the year to cordially thank fathers for everything they do. It exists to remind them that they are loved, appreciated, and honored. The Oxford dictionary defines a father as "a man who gives care and protection to someone or something." Another definition of father refers to God, the first person in the Trinity.
Historically, Father's Day began in July 1908. Grace Golden Clayton organized the first Father's Day church service at Williams Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church following a town mining disaster which left an estimated 1,000 children fatherless. The disaster known as the Monongah Mining Disaster killed 250 fathers. U.S. President Calvin Coolidge first recognized Father's Day at a national level in 1924. In 1972, President Richard Nixon announced the annual national observance of Father's Day on the third week of June.

Your children notice everything and will follow your example." ― Shannon L. Alder, 300 Questions LDS Couples Should Ask for a More Vibrant Marriage
8) "Let me say for now that we knew once the Creation was broken, true fathering would be much more lacking than mothering. Don't misunderstand me, both are needed- but an emphasis on fathering is necessary because of the enormity of its absence" ― Wm. Paul Young, The Shack

10) Spiritual fathers have influence over the lives of individuals. Patriarchs have influence over families. The devil has been able to destroy families because there is a lack of spiritual fathers and patriarchs." ― Sherry K. White
